Newshub Sport and Suzuki renew record partnership

Discovery has announced that Suzuki has signed on as the Newshub Sport partner across Newshub 11.30, 4.30, 6pm, Late and Newshub.co.nz for a ninth year.

“Suzuki has been fantastic to work with as we’ve built Newshub Sport to be top-of-mind for Kiwi sports fans. It’s been a pleasure and a privilege to have such a long-standing and meaningful relationship with a partner who really gets what we do at Newshub Sport,” says Sarah Bristow, Director of News, Newshub.

Kerry Leonard, Discovery Senior Manager, Integration says: “A good partnership comes with an understanding that when you tell a great story it can have an equally great impact on the brand. The length of time that Suzuki has been a partner is testimony to how well we understand each other’s businesses, and the high level of trust we have been able to build across our teams as they’ve come together to collaborate throughout this time. It is a partnership we are proud of and one we will continue to grow together in the years to come.”

The nine year partnership makes them the longest running sponsor on Three, with Suzuki adding to their partnership in 2022 for the sponsorship of Newshub at 8pm on eden.

“At Suzuki New Zealand, we believe in the many benefits of sport. From Netball New Zealand to the Masters Games to Triathlon NZ, we are proud to support the development of sport in New Zealand, all the way from grassroots to international level. Our partnership with Newshub Sport is an important part of our commitment to New Zealand sport, and one we are excited to see thrive over the coming years,” says Gary Collins, General Manager Automobile at Suzuki New Zealand.

Tim Antric, Managing Director, GSL Promotus adds: “As Suzuki’s marketing agency for 26 years, we totally appreciate the value of long-term partnerships. Much like a Suzuki, the nine year partnership with Newshub Sport has delivered more than expected, providing a consistent, credible brand platform that has contributed to driving their market position from number 6 to number 4, and a 23% increase in market share, for new passenger vehicle registrations.”
