New sponsorship offers Kiwi marketers career resources

Despite the widely held consensus that the economy is beginning to recover, the effects of recent redundancies and higher levels of unemployment continue to make the sales and marketing job market extremely competitive. And gaining access to leading recruitment resources is crucial for job seekers and employers to find the right position or candidate.

Through a new sponsorship leveraging the expertise of specialist professional recruitment firm Robert Walters, the New Zealand Marketing Association (NZMA) can now provide this support through its Human Resources and Careers Advisory Service.

“Robert Walters has specialist sales and marketing divisions in Auckland and Wellington, a wealth of valuable knowledge and resources and a global network of 38 offices that NZMA members can utilise to position themselves well in the job market or to assist them in making the right staffing decisions,” says Sue McCarty, chief executive, NZMA. “One resource of particular value will be the results of Robert Walters’ annual global salary survey, due out in mid-February 2010. These results will give candidates and employers an international and national benchmark to measure against their skill range and salary.”

Sian Humphrey, manager of Robert Walters’ sales and marketing division in Auckland is looking forward to assisting NZMA members with their recruitment needs.

“2009 was undoubtedly a difficult year for many marketing professionals, but the recruitment tide is definitely turning and we anticipate a far more buoyant year ahead with greater opportunities,” she says.

The Marketing Association also acknowledges the support of TVNZ and New Zealand Post as Principal Business Partners. Through their support the NZMA is able to continue facilitating a vibrant community of engaged marketing and business professionals that together foster the evolution of successful, market-led New Zealand businesses.
