Skinny will do anything to keep prices low and customers happy. So rather than paying big name celebrities to be in their ads – and then passing those costs on to customers – they’ve once again scoured the country to find ordinary New Zealanders with famous names.
The ‘Famous Names’ campaign via Colenso BBDO returns after first launching in 2018, when it starred a Michael Jordan from Kelston, Clint Eastwood from Pukekohe and an Anthony Hopkins from Clevedon, among other ‘celebrities’.
First to roll out in this new round will be one 30 second TV commercial and a 15 second spot for Skinny Broadband, featuring Louis Hamilton, from Rotorua, telling us about the telco’s speedy, affordable offers. The Broadband spots are just the beginning of the campaign, with two more famously named Kiwis turning up on TV in the next few months.

We took a hugely successful brand creative platform and pushed it further to communicate the speed of our Broadband network!”
She goes on to say: “In many ways Louis Hamilton from Rotorua is the perfect fit for Skinny. Not only does he share one of the world’s biggest names, he really does emulate speed in real life being a successful pro downhill mountain bike racer.”
