Stuff records steady audience growth in the last month

Stuff’s online audience has grown in the last month with 2.32 million Kiwis turning to the website – a number that the media company says is over 200,000 more than its nearest competitor.

Nielsen’s online audience rankings in October showed Stuff’s steady audience growth over the past quarter, with audiences rating above nzherald.co.nz, rnz.co.nz and 1news.co.nz.

Stuff Digital Managing Director Nadia Tolich says Stuff has hundreds of journalists across the country delivering a mix of live and lively news, great local journalism and video storytelling which uniquely reflects life in New Zealand today.

“More Kiwis visit stuff.co.nz more often and stay for longer than any other news site in the country,” she says.

“October was a big month for our live and free coverage of the America’s Cup and the build up to the US Election, but it is great Kiwi stories about our people and communities that really resonate with our audience.”

Stuff’s Director of Agency Markets Jaana Collins says the scale and reach of stuff.co.nz means the business deeply understands New Zealanders, and how brands connect with them.

“A Kiwi news site telling Kiwi stories is crucial for connecting local advertisers with their customers,” she says. “Our recent campaigns integrating local personalities with brands and audiences are showing up in these results too. Over the next few months we’ll have some exciting new commercial projects on offer, delivering more integration and engagement opportunities with the country’s largest New Zealand website.”
