For some, the consumption of bacon is close to a religious experience. And Oscar Mayer has referenced that intense love, bowing down at the porcine temple and creating a surreal spot to promote a new app that wakes people up with the smell of bacon. 

As part of its wake up and smell the bacon campaign, The Oscar Mayer Institute for the Advancement of Bacon is giving away 4,700 of the devices, which seem to be like a slightly more advanced version of the wake n’ bacon. 

Next they’ll be handing out bacon lube.
