“The Morning Shift” podcast has marked one year in market by announcing the next addition to the YOUKNOW Media roster, a weekly sports podcast featuring rugby league superstar Shaun Johnson.
“The Morning Shift” comprises three of New Zealand’s most loved local personalities; Marc ‘Matua Marc’ Peard, Jordan River and Brook Ruscoe, who came together in March 2023 to craft a podcast unique to the New Zealand media landscape.
The almost-daily offer comprises all things culture, sports, entertainment, while pushing thought-provoking commentary from the hosts’ own lives and experiences.
To date, “The Morning Shift” has achieved over 6.2 million downloads with over 1 million followers across all major social platforms. In addition to this success, it also sits as #1 podcast in New Zealand and in the top #20 shows in Australia across Spotify, a statistic that is no small feat, as well as regularly charting in the UK and USA markets.
The first year has seen “The Morning Shift” team list many achievements, with some of the most notable being the significant viral content contributions from The All Blacks and global rapper T-Pain.
Spotify has also recognised the position that “The Morning Shift” holds in the New Zealand market and has come on board to offer further support and amplification opportunities via its video podcasting capabilities, allowing listeners and sponsors alike a deeper opportunity to connect and engage in the daily content.
