Hey, it’s me Shady Lowdown with another big scoop for StopPress. News on the street, Great North Road to be exact, is that Justin Mowday, Group CEO and Damon Stapleton, Regional Chief Creative Officer are to depart DDB.
A source tells me that an announcement is to be made tomorrow, and both staff and clients have been informed of the imminent departures. But no official word from DDB on this as yet.
StopPress, however, did speak to Mowday who confirmed the news saying that he and Stapleton are off on their own venture and is happy to share further details in the weeks to come.
Mowday stepped up to lead the New Zealand Group business in July of last year, while Stapleton who was previously the agency’s Chief Creative Officer moved into his current role in July 2019.
This one is sure to get tongues wagging. Keep an eye out on StopPress for more details coming tomorrow.
