24 hour party people

Soulwax has just released the final edition of their set of 24 hour-long mixes, with 60 minutes of awe-inspiring audiovisual goodness taken from their 2002 mashup classic As Heard On Radio Soulwax Pt 2, which was released under their alias, 2ManyDJs.

The duo released the mix through Radio Soulwax, a multimedia internet radio station and app. And the clip matches album art with every single track that makes up the mix, manipulating them so that they move, dance and sing.

Pitchfork.com puts it like this: “When Peaches’ ‘Fuck the Pain Away’ collides into Basement Jaxx and Emerson Lake & Palmer, you get Peaches’ crotch from the Teaches of Peaches album cover rapping the lyrics. And then, as ‘Fuck the Pain Away’ turns into the Velvet Underground’s ‘I’m Waiting for the Man’, VU’s trademark banana emerges from said crotch.”

If you’ve got a spare hour, it’s well worth a watch. Or at least a skim.
