FizzyPop and Hawke’s Bay Airport welcome new airline connecting East Coast

FizzyPop, a full-service agency in Hawke’s Bay, in partnership with Hawke’s Bay Airport, has unveiled a brand new airline – Sunair’s East Coast Connector service.

Recognising the travel difficulties of State Highway 2, which were exacerbated by Cyclone Gabrielle leading to travel times of over three hours on average, Sunair’s East Coast Connector presents a much-needed solution.

Commuters now have a dependable and secure service which offers daily connections between Napier, Wairoa, and Gisborne from Monday to Friday.

The partnership saw FizzyPop deliver creative, media planning and buying services to assist in the launch of the Sunair East Coast connector service .

The innovative media strategy combines traditional advertising placements including 30 second radio spots, YouTube pre-rolls, static and animated billboard placements, print, animated banners, and search advertising – supported with an innovative integrated marketing event brokered with NZME.

The event saw The Hits Hawke’s Bay presenter Adam Green take part in a “Roadless Roadie” day trip – taking the Sunair flight to Gisborne while making live updates to his co-host Meghan Banks, as well as organic social media updates. The regional activity is complemented by adlibbed placements from national breakfast presenters Jono & Ben as well as competition activations and owned social media updates.

FizzyPop Director Tom Young says: “It’s just great being part of a good news story like a new airline coming to Hawke’s Bay and obviously we love demonstrating that there are full-services agencies here in Hawke’s Bay that can produce innovative creative and media campaigns that deliver tangible results”.

Clare Hollings, Marketing & Communications Lead at Hawke’s Bay Airport, adds: “FizzyPop came up with outstanding creative concepts that have translated into an exceptional campaign that works in all mediums. We’re really excited to introduce an additional airline service in Sunair to Hawke’s Bay, and working with an agency that understands how to use creative and media together to drive ticket sales has been a real pleasure.”

Iain Urquhart, Media Director at FizzyPop, also expressed excitement about the collaboration

“We love working with clients where we get to flex our media and creative know-how. It means that we can produce interesting and unique ways of talking to our audiences, as well as overlay our econometric models to accurately forecast ticket sales and ultimately satisfy cost per acquisition targets.”
