Enough with the stereotypes

Funny Girls star Rose Matafeo has weighed in on car ad stereotypes in a new promo for the show set to return to screens on 30 September.

In the short clip, which first featured on the Metro website, Matafeo is followed around by a gruff-voiced man, who is caught off guard by the fact that a woman is driving the new Holden Colorado (obviously a manly man’s car).

After a series of ridiculously sexist criticisms, Matafeo eventually hands the wheel over to the faceless narrator, who then proceeds to stall the vehicle.

If only there were more car ads like this.
