Deck the walls: grab yourself a thing of beauty at this weekend's MAGS Art Show

Over the past four years, the MAGS Art Show has developed a reputation as a well-curated art event showcasing some of the country’s finest painting, photography and sculpture. StopPress' parent company ICG is a sponsor of the event, which is taking place this weekend, and this year you’ll have the opportunity to view more than 1,000 artworks from emerging and established New Zealand artists and from the top Mt Albert Grammar art students.

All the artworks featured in the MAGS Art Show are available for purchase so if you see something you love, you’re invited to buy it and take it home at the end of the show.

Alternatively, you can cast your best bid for one of the treats in the Silent Auction – including artworks, a $1,500 campervan voucher and much more.

A commission from every artwork sold goes to the MAGS Foundation, with the profits used to fund new school resources and equipment, and an Artist in Residence programme.

Check out the array of talented artists displaying their work here.

Buy your tickets to the opening gala night (it's tonight people!) here. Tickets are $50 and include beverages, canapés and entertainment from talented MAGS musicians and artists.

The exhibition is free to attend over the weekend and runs from 10am – 6pm on Saturday 18th August and 10am - 3pm on Sunday 19th August at Mount Albert Grammar School.
