D3 becomes the first B Corp certified ad agency in NZ

D3 have officially been recognised as New Zealand’s latest certified B Corp and therefore have become the first media/advertising agency in NZ to do so.

Joining the likes of Allbirds and Sharesies, D3 have committed to meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. The B Corp Certification does not just evaluate a product or service, it assesses the overall positive impact of the company that stands behind it.

D3 has additionally been named a Best for the World™ B Corp by ranking in the top five percent of all B Corps globally of their size for sustainable business practices.

D3 Co-founder Alex Radford says of the achievement: “D3 was founded under the principle of “there must be a better way” which has guided how we work with our clients, but also how we act as a business, and the impact we have on our team, our partners, the environment, the community and our customers.

Alex Radford.

“Simply to be certified as a B Corp was a massive honour, but now to be recognised as in the top five percent and “Best for the World” is just extraordinary”.

When asked what led to their success, Radford noted: “Our policies that ensure financial security for our employees, our commitment to a fully NZ based workforce, and methodologies to ensure no gender pay gaps, profit share bonus schemes, commitment to training, and most importantly worker empowerment stood out to the B Corp community.”

Other B Corps from more than 50 countries include 4G Capital, KeepCup, Natura, The Big Issue Group, TOMS, Too Good To Go, and Patagonia.

The 2021 Best for the World lists are determined based on the verified B Impact Assessments of Certified B Corporations. The full lists are available here.
