Can you beat a tiger?

WWF in Russia has launched a cool new initiative created by the crew at Hungry Boys in Moscow to help save tigers by getting people to race them through a new app. If participants lose they have to donate.

The app is called the ‘Tiger Challenge’ and how it works is that the organisation will fix a GPS tag on a tiger in the wild and invite people to check if they are faster than a Russian tiger, which run about 20km per day.

Those taking part need to visit the app’s online platform to connect their account and, after that, run. If a participant fails to beat the tiger then they automatically donate to WWF, it’s as simple as that.

Because of poaching and farming that has destroyed their habitats, tiger numbers in Russia are steadily decreasing, with only 450 Amur tigers left in the country.
