Barrett brothers and Lightforce Solar unite to push for Kiwi energy independence

Lightforce Solar, a leader in sustainable energy, has launched a new brand platform: ‘The Future is Obvious’.

Barret brothers Scott, Jordie and Beauden are bringing their rugby star power to the campaign as brand ambassadors.

The campaign highlights that the solution to high power prices, power resilience and renewable energy has been right above us all along: the sun.

By harnessing its power, we can reduce reliance on traditional energy. It’s about putting the power back into the hands of the Kiwi consumer, says Lightforce Solar CEO John Harman.

“Of all OECD countries, New Zealand has the least rooftops using solar, which is the cheapest way to generate power.

“The solution to our energy crisis has been there in plain sight this whole time. From powering family homes to large-scale commercial projects, Lightforce Solar has already helped thousands of Kiwi embrace clean, renewable energy,” Harman adds.

“For far too long we’ve been at the mercy of large power companies who continue to price gouge.

“The government refuses to regulate, so it’s time we were all able to control our own energy future by harnessing it direct from the sun into our own homes. It’s time for New Zealanders to gain energy independence.”

A smart investment

Studies from Australia show that households with solar can save up to 60% on their annual power bills.

Applying similar projections to Aotearoa, a typical household could potentially save tens of thousands of dollars over the lifetime of a solar system

The savings New Zealand households can make on their power bills vary between 40% and 80%. The amount depends on the solar system installed.

Additionally, research from homes.co.nz indicates that installing a solar system can increase a home’s resale value by 4.4%. This makes it both a smart financial investment and an environmentally responsible choice.

The future is obvious

Launching this week, the Future is Obvious campaign will roll out across all media channels. This includes television, radio, digital, social, out of home and a brand-new website.

Renowned rugby stars Scott, Jordie and Beauden Barrett have signed on as brand ambassadors.

The Barrett brothers, known for their excellence on the field, share the same commitment to a more sustainable future.

They will also play a key role in advocating for solar adoption across the country, helping encourage other Kiwi to gain energy independence.

Additionally, testimonials from the Barrett brothers will launch as they get solar installed into their own homes. This will allow them to advocate for the benefits first hand.

“We were ambitious in wanting this incredible trio of rugby legends as brand ambassadors. But as conversations evolved, it became clear that our values aligned,” says Harman.

“Investing in rooftop solar isn’t just about reducing power bills – it’s about securing a sustainable energy future for all New Zealanders.”

NZ-owned Lightforce Solar is is committed to delivering high-quality, residential and commercial solar installations across the country.
