Born Bred signs SIX60, becomes first creative agency in NZ and AUS to accept cryptocurrency as payment

Born Bred Talent, which just last month launched Born Bred Creative as its official creative agency branch, will now be the first agency across Australia and New Zealand accepting all major crypto currencies as a form of payment from October 31.

The business will now accept the likes of Ethereum, Bitcoin and XRP as payment and has just on-boarded 2020’s largest New Zealand artist, SIX60, as its foundation client under the new offering.

SIX60 have paid Born Bred’s service fee in Ethereum following the engagement of Born Bred Creative’s expert team to build a viral moment on social media with a primary focus on TikTok. Ethereum which is an internationally recognised crypto currency that is second in market value only to BitCoin.

Ji Fraser from SIX60 says the new offering shows “Born Bred’s foresight in a rapidly changing industry” noting that the Born Bred team “truly has their fingers on the pulse”.

“As artists and a band, we always embraced the technology that keeps us as accessible to as many fans as possible. From selling our first album on Facebook to doing TikTok’s first global live stream concert, we seek innovation.

“Born Bred’s embracing of crypto along with their innovative creative strategies shows the same spirit,” says Fraser.

With the first crypto-campaign underway, Born Bred Creative and Born Bred Talent founder and director Clare Winterbourn says innovation is “critical in the industry”, and the “integration of crypto currency” is another step in the evolution of the business she started four years ago.

The move comes after recent reports that show the increased demand for crypto payments with 25 percent of Australians and 38.2 percent of Kiwis holding or have held cryptocurrency in the last 12 months.

“Our top priority as an agency has always been to showcase and leverage the power of social media by harnessing the perfect combination of creative thinking, strategy and execution,” says Winterbourn.

“This new offering increases our visibility, easing access and transaction for those using crypto, and allows our clients and talent to utilise and expand their crypto portfolio while we execute best-in-class campaigns.”

Born Bred’s Head of Strategy Edward Deal, who champions the adoption of crypto currency within the agency, says introducing the new payment method “reinforces the progressive nature of Born Bred”, and fills a gap for innovation in the current market.

“In addition to diversifying our offering to connect with more brands and organisations globally, the initiative comes as an opportunity to diversify and expand our profile, as well as the profile of our clients and talent,” says Deal.
