Beacons shine Gold across deserving winners

Last night the first ever online Beacon Awards graced our screens, and with it came a host of gold winners, notably OMD, TVNZ and oOh!media.

The Beacons which where brought this year to us via oOh!media, saw the naming sponsor take out Sales Team of the Year.

oOh!media New Zealand general manager Nick Vile said he was proud of how far the sales team had come in a short space of time to continue to amplify the oOh! brand in the New Zealand media market.

The oOh!media team

“This is well-deserved recognition for this impressive team and the commitment they have to delivering advertisers powerful results through the unrivalled scale of our integrated network and innovative data products, which enable a greater return on investment,” he said.

“It is not always easy to keep a laser focus on the customer while a corporate restructure is happening, but this team has proven they can do just that! Everyone in the team responded to the challenges of integration and ensured our customers experienced exceptional service and at the same time established a great platform for future growth.”

Other large wins were taken out by TVNZ who took home Media Business of the Year.

TVNZ’s commercial director Jodi O’Donnell puts TVNZ’s success down to a focus on delivering for both advertisers and viewers in equal measure.

The TVNZ Team

“TVNZ is privileged to work with the best creative and media talent from around New Zealand. We’ve invested in these relationships to ensure we can deliver brilliant storytelling from much-loved brands in ways that inform, surprise and delight. We’re so thrilled to have our work here acknowledged and to win this award.”

While Best in Show was delivered to OMD’s NZTA/ Unsaid campaign, while the agency also won Media Agency of the Year.

Nigel Douglas, OMD CEO, says the win was great for the team to recognise all their hard work.

“We’ve been working hard on our culture and capability over the last few years so it was great to see it reach fever pitch last night. It’s very satisfying to be recognised for some of the  great work coming out of the agency. Big high fives to our team, clients and partners”.
