Amazon gets Orwellian with drone squadron

Jeff Bezos, the mastermind at Amazon, is planning to give online shopping an Orwellian twist by introducing a squadron of unmanned drones to deliver products purchased on the website.

Early tests of the project, which is still in the research and development stage, were promising, and Bezos believes that drone deliveries could be incorporated in the United States as early as 2015.

Media sources were however not as optimistic, with some claiming that the idea was just an elaborate marketing ruse to push pre-Christmas sales.

Our biggest concern, however, isn’t whether the idea is practicable, but rather whether the drones will have to scan your eyes to confirm your identity upon delivery. If this is the case, then regretful buyers could end up in scenes like this:
