2022 PRINZ Awards finalists announced

The Public Relations Institute has announce 38 finalists in its annual 2022 PRINZ Awards. The selection follows a rigorous three-stage judging model involving more than 80 senior public relations and communications professionals overseen by Chief Judges, Denise Mackay FPRINZ, APR and Andrew Pirie, FPRINZ. The judges assessed a total of 86 entries across all PRINZ Awards categories.

Mackay says it was an absolute privilege and pleasure to work with Andrew to review such high-quality awards submitted this year.

“With the hangover of Covid prevalent in many of the submissions, it was inspiring to see so much innovation and ‘pivoting’ that took place – with the sole focus of driving towards those all-important outcomes. Our profession is often maligned as being either too fluffy or all about the spin. These awards prove we are neither. Every single entry – finalist or not, showed a range of thoughtful and well considered strategic approaches that had clear intentions on meeting business objectives. He tino pai tō mahi.”

Pirie concurs: “This year’s PRINZ awards has once again reinforced the important role public relations plays in supporting an informed society, strong communities and a prosperous economy. Although the number of entries was lower in what as a challenging year for many practitioners, the overall quality of entries was impressively strong. Clear objectives, deep insights, sound strategies, inspired creativity, solid execution and demonstrable results were all hallmarks of winning submissions,” he says.
