Simon Hofmann joins Kiwibank as head of brand and marketing communications

Kiwibank has appointed Simon Hofmann as the head of brand and marketing communications.

The appointment fills the role left open when Regan Savage departed earlier this year.

Hofmann joins the bank form Hyundai Motors New Zealand, where he’d been head of marketing since June last year. His previous communications and marketing roles have been at IBM, National Australia Bank, South East Water (Australia), UK Department of Health and Mercedes-Benz New Zealand.

Kiwibank group manager of marketing Mark Wilkshire says Hofmann is an exceptional marketer with a unique skill set.

“He has a deep understanding of the financial sector as well as vast brand experience. Like many Kiwis, Simon travelled extensively gaining international experience before returning to New Zealand with his most recent role at Hyundai NZ as the head of brand, digital and marketing. Simon takes the reins at Kiwibank on August 7 and the team is excited to see what he brings to New Zealand’s largest bank and one of the country’s most high profile brands.”

Commenting on his appointment, Hofmann says it’s a unique opportunity to work with one of New Zealand’s most iconic and important brands.

“I’ve enjoyed a quick break, the batteries are charged and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in with the team.”

Hofmann will be based in Auckland, splitting his time between there and the  Kiwibank Wellington HQ.
