Auckland director/photographer Tom Grut has joined the Fish&Clips and Fanclub rosters to work across music and commercial avenues.
Beginning his career as an actor, Tom found himself writing, producing and editing. Since then he has developed a unique approach to his craft and a confident eye for storytelling which he translates into all of his work, whether it’s shooting an international artist like Post Malone or Dua Lipa, commercial photography or directing.
A musician himself, Tom is a prominent player in the music industry and brings a distinct and passionate eye to his work across both live music and music videos. This is showcased in recent projects with artists such as Teeks, Home Brew, Kaylee Bell, Allen Stone, Shapeshifter, Foley, Jess B, Raiza Biza and Diggy Dupe.
“Tom already has an admirable repertoire of work to be proud of. His diverse skill set through his ability to direct, shoot and edit is a perfect fit for Fish&Clips. It’s epic to welcome Tom to the Fish family,” says Blaine Stevenson, Head of Fish&Clips.
Tom has spent the best part of a decade directing and photographing a dynamic range of creative projects and commercials, for brands such as Live Nation, Laneway, Red Bull, Sniffers, Coup De Main and Huffer.
“Tom is a highly skilled photographer in the commercial/music scene and brings loads of energy and enthusiasm. His clients highly value his creative acumen and we are stoked to have him and his style of imagery join our roster! He’s a superb addition to the Fanclub team,” says Fleur Swarbrick (EP, Stills – Fanclub).
