Bettle & Associates has appointed senior strategist Gustav Rischmüller to add extra weight to the agency’s brand, marketing, comms and customer experience strategy offering.
Rischmüller was a co-founder of Johannesburg-based Angelcy Brand Messengers and most recently operated as an independent brand and marketing strategist for clients and projects across Africa, Europe and North America.
“With George (Bettle) stepping aside at the end of 2023, Gustav’s appointment serves partly to fill the gap left by George’s departure with some of the agency’s international client stakeholders. And also partly to assist in expanding the agency’s penetration in new industries and markets,” says B&A Managing Director Will Peart.
“Gustav’s pragmatic approach to getting things done right the first time, his great rapport with diverse brands from around the world, and his depth of strategic skills are well aligned to our future plans.”
Rischmüller says he immediately connected to Bettle & Associates’ focus on strategic creativity and its outcomes-focused ethos. “I’ve also always been doggedly commercial in my approach to a project or a client partnership. In the end, if my input is not measurable by money in the bank or bums on seats, I have no business being in your business.”
He adds, “Doing that well, and sustainably, is simpler when the hard yards are put in in the beginning.
