Stanley St appoints new Creative Directors

Executive Creative Director at Stanley St, Brad Collett, has wasted no time in attracting new talent into his creative department by appointing new Creative Directors.

Collett, who made the move from DDB to Stanley St in July, says that he’s loved every minute of his new role and is excited by the new hires.

“It’s now even better with such a talented bunch of lead creatives who are already doing amazing mahi. While we haven’t had the chance to work together for long in the agency with lockdown, Zoom is our new connector and I am just so proud of what we are achieving. KFC’s Lolli-Popcorn Chicken is an amazing example of this.”

The first of the three new hires is Anna Yates (Stickley). Yates recently arrived back from Melbourne and brings with her a wealth of experience and a swathe of awards including gold from Cannes, One Show and Young Guns, plus a yellow pencil at D&AD.

Yates says: “Coming home to New Zealand, I was looking for an agency with a strong focus on the work, a diverse way of thinking and a lovely bunch of people. I’ve definitely found that at Stanley St.”

She is partnered with the renowned Billy McQueen, a world-class Creative Director and artist, who is signing on full time after a stint freelancing.

This is a big move for McQueen after spending years as an independent contractor.

“Actually, it wasn’t such a big decision,” says McQueen. “I really like the energy of the place and Brad has a vision that I want to be part of.”

Finally,Diana Hornal has been appointed as Retail Creative Director.

“Retail is always evolving, and at Stanley St we needed someone who has a vision of what the future of retail creative looks like, through data and digital-driven outputs. Diana has this ability. She is a natural leader, and a talented and enthusiastic creative. She has a strong conceptual mind as well as the ability to design and art direct her ideas into award-winning creative solutions that will help guide this way of working,” says Collett.

Hornal adds: “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Brad in the past and couldn’t turn down the opportunity to do so again. I’m looking forward to adding enormously to our clients’ work.”

Collett concludes: “These are three great hires, passionate about their work, relentless in their pursuit of big ideas and just great people to have in any creative department.”
