RUSH announces Brady Cox as new CEO

Design and technology studio, RUSH, which is well regarded for its work in pandemic tech, is today announcing the appointment of Brady Cox as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Based in Auckland, Cox will lead the award-winning business on a new phase of growth, and takes the helm from departing CEO, Pavan Vyas, who, after more than five years’ leading the technology company, steps aside to assume a non-executive director role on the company’s board.

With over 20 years of international experience in senior leadership and C-suite roles, Cox brings a wealth of knowledge having managed territories including North America, Europe, SE Asia and ANZ, and joins RUSH from Vesper Marine, a market leader in marine communications electronics and software.

Under his leadership, Cox led the development of a number of market leading innovations in the marine communications space, and more recently steered the organisation through its acquisition by Garmin New Zealand.

Commenting on his appointment, Cox says: “RUSH’s reputation and track record make this next CEO role a very exciting proposition. The experience they have at solving complex business problems with design thinking and leading-edge development, is a great platform for success.

“What really attracted me to RUSH was the way they have enacted upon their company purpose to build solutions that better serve humankind. They have completed projects that deliver on that purpose, the NZ COVID Tracer app being a standout example, along with their development of R/Vision and implementing exciting new tech.”

Pavan Vyas will remain an important influence within RUSH, turning his focus towards governance and strategic oversight as the technology company continues to progress its growth strategy, as well as continuing to provide guidance to the leadership team while Cox transitions into his new role.

“It is a real privilege to have led the company to this point in our growth strategy, and over a period that has seen many of our people and customers achieve significant milestones.  I’m delighted with Brady’s appointment and proud that RUSH has attracted a person of his calibre to lead the company through to new heights. I wish him all the success and look forward to supporting RUSH from a new vantage point,” adds Vyas.

Speaking on Cox’s appointment, Chair of the Board, Bruce Cotterill, adds: “Brady’s background in international sales and leadership within high growth technology organisations was an attractive part of the skillset he presented, and we are excited to be welcoming him to RUSH. At the same time, we must recognise the role that Pavan has played in our development to date. He has done an outstanding job and we’re very pleased that he has decided to remain involved in the company. The company is at a very interesting phase of its growth, and we are very much looking forward to the additional dynamic that Brady will bring.”

RUSH works with clients like Z Energy, the Ministry of Health, Public Trust, Google and the University of Auckland to bring to life digital experiences that make an impact and break new ground.
