Kathryn Wills has joined Reach Media as an Account Director – Key Accounts. Formerly of ACP Media where she worked across the agency business with great success, Kathryn brings with her both strong agency and B2B sales knowledge across key accounts, and a print industry background. Having previously worked for NZ Herald, NZ Magazines and Chaucer Press she has a wealth of account management skill and sales acumen, and is excited to be joining Reach in her new role.

McNally blows in, Hornblow bows out

APN NZ Media has appointed Andrew McNally to a new key role of group sales director, starting in February. The appointment is part of APN’s goal of building a more integrated business with a greater focus on multi-media sales across new channels – giving our clients greater opportunities to reach existing and new markets.

McNally will be providing strategic direction and leadership for APN group agency sales, metro direct sales, business marketing and NZ group sales effectiveness across The New Zealand Herald, Herald on Sunday, nzherald.co.nz, New Zealand Magazines and APN Regional Newspapers.

McNally is currently commercial director of News Lab, News Limited’s creative hub for strategic media solutions across newspapers, digital and magazines. Prior to this McNally was integration sales director working with News Limited’s newspaper, magazine and digital assets and sales teams. He also held a variety of senior sales leadership roles across News Limited’s newspaper business.

APN NZ Media also announced the resignation of The New Zealand Herald and Herald on Sunday advertising general manager Greg Hornblow. After 27 years with The New Zealand Herald and associated titles, Hornblow is taking up the position of general manager of Bayleys Realty Group. Hornblow started as an advertising cadet with The New Zealand Herald, moving through a number of advertising departments and roles, including Herald classified manager, Herald on Sunday advertising manager and publisher of the Aucklander.

More for Monaghan
Experiential agency Ambient Advertising New Zealand director Chris Monaghan has been appointed group chief operating officer for Ambient’s offices in Australia and New Zealand. All sales and operations staff on both sides of the Tasman will now be reporting to him in Auckland.

Dan’s the man

Stu Tolan joining Marc Ellis and Amber Peebles on the new breakfast show left a bit of a gap in the afternoons on More FM.

The slot has now been filled with Dan Bernstone. Bernstone has great radio pedigree having worked with the Morning Crew on ZM, and More FM Christchurch.

“I’m really looking forward to being back on air and to be on such a great station. It’ll be fun to be working with this awesome new team and some of my old radio pals. I can’t wait to get my teeth into this new challenge,” says Bernstone.

More FM network programme director, Ande Macpherson says “Replacing Stu was not an easy task but in Dan we have someone who has great passion and knowledge of More FM. It is exciting to add him to our already strong on-air line up for the New Year. 2012 will be a good time for listeners to tune in to More FM.”

McCann moves Maisey to Sydney

McCann World Group Sydney has promoted marketing maven Oliver Maisey to the post of creative director. Maisey, who starts in Sydney today, will be busy as he is also keeping his current position as creative director of McCann New Zealand.

Prior to McCann, Maisey was at BBDO Dubai, and before that he was ECD at M&C Saatchi, DraftFCB and Generator Bates, in New Zealand. His trophy cabinet includes awards from Cannes, D&AD, One Show, AWARD and Effies.

McCann is also said to be on the look out for a national head of planning, and a national head of digital, as well as more digital talent across both its Melbourne and Sydney offices. The agency is also seeking more senior creative talent for its Auckland office.
