Special’s Wellington office has appointed JP Twaalfhoven as Creative Director, bringing over a decade’s worth of experience to the team.
Prior to freelancing for the agency, Twaalfhoven previously worked for Clemenger BBDO and Saatchi & Saatchi.
His work has claimed the Aotearoa Grand Axis three times, received multiple Purple Pins at Best Awards, and been recognised at international shows like Cannes, D&AD, and in the WARC 100.
Twaalfhoven’s portfolio includes internationally recognised projects Belted Survivors, The Conscious Crossing, Look Right, Look Left radio campaign, and being part of the team to deliver Unite against COVID-19. JP’s creativity extends outside of the realm of advertising, as the co-founder and co-designer of award-winning KYT Bags.
Mark Forgan, Executive Creative Director at Special Wellington, says, “JP is the perfect addition to our ever-growing team here in Wellington. His ambition to create world-class work from the capital has been evident in his career to date and he’s amassed a body of work that matches some of the best portfolios out there.”
“Aside from his creative prowess, he’s just such a lovely bloke who fits in perfectly with the Special crew and clients. We’re all lucky to have him on our side.”
Twaalfhoven has long admired Special’s work.
“The collision of ideas and design explodes at Special. Standing out through simple twists of logic and look. Many more beautiful collisions to come with the momentum the Welly crew are riding.”
