JCDecaux makes two senior sales appointments

Two senior sales leaders have been appointed by JCDecaux New Zealand, with Matt Kum joining in the newly created role of National Sales Manager – Airport, while David Carran joins as Senior Account Director.

It comes as a suite of initiatives ensuring client success is at the heart of the business, delivering unrivalled customer experience and driving positive outcomes for brands.

Kum will lead the advertising recovery of JCDecaux’s airport assets, which include Auckland, Christchurch and Queenstown. He will be responsible for market education, knowledge building and strategic partnerships.

Kum has extensive industry experience, having worked in sales, media and creative agency roles, most recently as Media Sales Director – Agency at Stuff Ltd.

Carran will lead JCDecaux’s relationships with agencies Wavemaker, Stanley Street, The Attention Works and Krunch. He joins JCDecaux from CARTEL Media where he was Sales Manager and has worked in a range of media sales roles across New Zealand and the UK.

JCDecaux NZ Sales Director Gary Rosewarne says: “As economies start to bounce back post-pandemic, JCDecaux is enjoying stronger occupancy across our Out-of-Home portfolio. Within our airport environment, domestic travel audiences have now almost fully returned, and with the opening of the Trans-Tasman and Cook Islands bubbles, demand for premium airport inventory is on the rise.

“Both our sales appointments reflect our desire to deliver exceptional client service: Matt’s knowledge of the media landscape, sales leadership background and strong business relationships makes him the perfect candidate to supercharge airport advertising recovery in the newly created Airport role, while David’s wealth of media experience and deep understanding of effective advertising and business strategy will help us build on our already great relationships with key agencies. We are excited for both their contributions.”

Kum’s appointment is effective immediately while Carran joins on Tuesday.
