Katie Walton has been appointed chief content officer on return from maternity leave and Mark Kelliher continues as general manager of DRUM after holding the acting position.
Kelliher joined the business at the start of 2023 from The Spinoff and in this time has become a much-loved addition to DRUM and PHD Group.
The chief content officer role is a new position in the agency structure, designed to enhance the agency’s culture of innovation and creativity and harnessing the collective and unique talents of DRUM’S specialists, to continually improve outputs for clients.
This formidable duo is supported by long standing DRUMMER Heidi Thompson, promoted to client services director, as well as the addition of Jessica Beckham, as head of content and social.
Nikki Grafton, CEO of PHD Group says “Mark has done an incredible job leading DRUM and has quickly built up the support of our clients. We’re delighted to have him on the team.”
Grafton continues, “We are so pleased to welcome Katie back into this new role, which works across the DRUM agency team to the benefit of our clients and DRUM product output.”
Walton, who has worked within the business since 2008 says, “I have always been so grateful to be a part of a company and Group that is supportive of all life phases, my longstanding tenure is a credit to the business. I am so excited to be back at DRUM delivering outstanding work for our clients and am absolutely thrilled to be working with Mark.”

“Anyone who has worked with Heidi will know she is perfect for this role; she is always looking for the best possible solution for clients and her positive attitude is infectious.
“Likewise, Jess as head of social and content is a coup for us. This is an ever-expanding area of the business and to have Jess’s leading industry capabilities in this space is imperative to support that growth.”
