Crave announces new joint ECDs
Crave has appointed Veronica Copestake and Adam Barnes as executive creative directors to lead its creative output.
Meanwhile, co-founder James Blackwood will step into the role of chief commercial officer and chairman, focusing on growth and elevating Crave’s creative product across Australasia.

Daniel Hopkirk, Crave co-founder and CEO, says: “Veronica and Adam are exactly what we were looking for: exceptional creative leaders, great humans and two people who genuinely understand where the industry is going.
“We were deliberate in this search. We wanted the best, and we found them. We built Crave to make things that matter, and these two are going to help us take that further than we ever have.”
Fuel the ambition
Together, Copestake and Barnes bring nearly 20 years of experience across some of the world’s leading brands and agencies.
Their work has been recognised at major industry award shows, delivering consistently strong results throughout their careers. Most recently at McCann (formerly DDB), they created a series of well-received New Zealand campaigns for AA Insurance, Volkswagen and McDonald’s and more.
Copestake and Barnes say: “For a small indie agency, Dan and Jimmy have big ambition. It’s exciting to bring our skills and knowledge of working at big agencies for the last 20 years to help fuel that ambition. Once our partner in crime Kate Lines got on board, the lure grew even stronger… Then they took us out for Margarita’s and we knew we’d made the right call.”
Their new roles are effective from June 22 and will be based at Crave’s Auckland studio.
