BBT Digital expands into Australia with new Melbourne office

Kiwi independent digital agency BBT Digital (BBT) has announced the opening of their first Australia office in Melbourne, Victoria. The expansion has been in the works for over two years, with the idea first discussed in 2019 just before the Covid-19 pandemic hit.

“Australia has always been on the top of our minds since we opened BBT eight years ago,” says Mike Taylor, Founder of BBT. “With the Covid-19 pandemic, we’ve had to pause our new ventures and focus on supporting our clients through the unprecedented disruptions that few of us could have foreseen.”

Now two years later, the timing is right for the company to open its doors in Melbourne and help organisations to rebound and take a leap forward. “Thanks to our partners, BBT has grown to be one of the largest independent digital agencies in New Zealand. By having boots on the ground in Melbourne, we look forward to offering even better services to our clients locally and add value to NZ clients with an Australia presence.”

BBT’s Melbourne office will be led by General Manager – Australia, Thomas Burke. Originally from Canberra, Thomas joined the company four years ago helping customers embrace a digital future.

“Melbourne is an amazing city with an unrivalled energy and atmosphere. It’s this energy that many great businesses have used to fuel their growth and what drew us to Melbourne,” says Thomas.

Whilst new to Melbourne, BBT is no stranger to partnering with renowned Australian organisations.

“Building upon our success with partners like LJ Hooker, Cairns Airport, and the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, I’m excited about partnering with other ambitious businesses along their digital journey,” says Thomas.

“Everyone talks about being customer-centric, but that’s a value BBT lives by. By establishing in Melbourne we’re closer to our key clients like HazardCo, and I look forward to working closely with their team to further innovate both digitally and beyond.”
