Formerly the Bauer Media agency sales director, Kaylene Hurley has stepped into the commercial director role vacated by Paul Gardiner earlier this year when he moved to the Australian division of the company.
She has served as acting commercial director since late October and has been with Bauer for almost four years.
An experienced operator, Hurley has worked in a variety of senior roles at Bauer Media and ACP, and more broadly in the market with businesses, including TVNZ, NZME and Ogilvy & Mather over the course of 20-plus years.
Hurley expressed enthusiasm about taking on the new role.
“This is a really exciting time to be at Bauer Media and I’m constantly inspired by the team we have here,” she said in an official statement.
“I’m looking forward to exploring opportunities with key partners,” she continued. “We’ve developed an ethos around creating deeply engaging content and audiences, and continue to deliver solutions for clients across multiple platforms.”
The appointment of Hurley as commercial director coincides with another senior appointment in the business, with Sarah Yetton being promoted to the position of agency sales director.
Already a senior member of the agency sales team, Yetton has 12 years’ advertising experience in publishing as well as content and production experience through her roles as a content producer with FCB and studio manager of Liquid Studios.
Bauer managing director Brendon Hill described the promotions as well-deserved.
“Kaylene and Sarah will continue to drive our customer-first approach with a mandate to drive innovation,” he said.
