Andrew Reinholds, managing partner at OMD, has announced his departure.
Reinholds joined the group from Total Media, back in 1999. He is one of the few remaining original team members from the 2008 merger between DDB and Colenso BBDO that created the new OMD New Zealand.
Originally a media buyer/planner, he worked his way through strategy roles through to management and leaves from his post as OMD New Zealand managing partner.
About his move, he says it’s hard to put into words what OMD has come to mean to him over the years.
“This place has got into my blood, so making the decision to leave has been one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. I feel truly blessed to have been able to work with so many smart, passionate and down-to-earth people. I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved as a group and I wish everyone associated with this amazing place all the very best for the future.”
At OMD, he’s been a key driver of its vision and culture, always passionate about the strategic product and collaborating with key creative agencies to ensure the delivery of great work. In addition to leading multiple-award-winning campaigns, he’s also lead initiatives such as Bingo Fridays with record-breaking engagement for the esteemed meat pack prize.
“Over the years the boots have got higher, the jeans skinnier, the glasses thicker, and the hair higher than humanely possible. He will be sadly missed by staff and clients,” reads the announcement.
OMD CEO Nigel Douglas wishes Reinholds good luck in his future endeavours.
“Andrew has made a significant impact here at OMD and really is the epitome of the original OMD culture. The dedication he has shown to OMD over the last 20 years has been astounding and we will all miss his hairstyling greatness.”
OMD will play The Fall in his honour.
