Acast expands into Queensland with new roles and promotions
Leading podcast company Acast has announced promotions in its sales teams, which cover Australia and NZ. Six new people will step into new roles, which have a broader focus, on April 1.
Acast has appointed Lauren Everist as the Queensland Senior Account Manager.
Everist brings rich media and audio experience. Her expertise includes broadcast TV, out of home and digital/print, with roles in sales, insights and strategy and trade marketing.
She is also a four-time winner at the Media I Awards and won the ‘Best Creative Campaign’ at the 2022 Australian Podcast Awards.

“Queensland creators are producing some of the best content in the country,” says Everist. “Being able to bring Acast’s world-class podcasts and advertising solutions to my local market feels just right.
“There’s so much potential for brands and agencies to use podcasting as part of their media mix.
“I’m excited to hit the ground running with the incredible team at Acast. And I look forward to connecting with new and familiar clients in my new role,” Everist adds.
Sales team promotions across Sydney and Melbourne
Acast has also announced promotions in its Sydney and Melbourne-based sales teams.
A new Group Business Director Ally Marchetti will oversee Acast’s sales team in Melbourne. Samatha Mee and Madison Symonds have been promoted to Senior Account Managers in its Sydney-based sales team.

As the company expands into Asia-Pacific, Daisy Smith will take on the role of APAC Programmatic Adtech Solutions Lead, while Keegan Litchfield will serve as the APAC Director of Ad Operations.
Kate Digby, returning from maternity leave, will become the newly created Commercial Strategy Director.

Acast’s growing influence in the region
“The local podcasting scene is thriving in Queensland,” says PR & Communications Manager Etty Eastwood.
“As the exclusive host for Queensland-based shows, Acast provides valuable opportunities for local brands to connect with their audiences.”
“I think Acast is very lucky to be working in an industry that is growing despite the economic headwinds many others are seeing,” says Acast Regional Managing Director Henrik Isaksson.
“The expansion of our business to Queensland and the promotions is just one of many things we are looking to announce this year.”
Since its launch in 2017, Acast has announced a total payout of $44.9 million to its creators in Australia and New Zealand.
It continues to expand its influence in the region – with leading podcasts including Casefile True Crime, Toni & Ryan and Kiwi production Between Two Beers joining the platform over the past seven months.
“Digital audio advertising is one of the most significant growth markets in Australian media,” says Eastwood.
“Acast now hosts more than 140,000 podcasts globally, providing extensive opportunities for brands to reach new audiences.”
