2019 is proving to be a big year for the Val Morgan group New Zealand.

Recently Matt Tremain, New Zealand sales director has taken on a group role leading the teams across its Val Morgan Cinema and VMO businesses and with that brings new talent and internal promotions. Kathryn Blackmore has been appointed senior account manager, VMO Work, joining the organisation from outdoor advertising network Go Media. Kath brings over 15 years’ media experience to the organisation from magazines, outdoor and digital.

Rob Forsyth will continue to lead the commercial arm of VMO Work with Chloe van Diepenbrugge promoted to account manager.

Matt Tremain says the key appointments will continue Val Morgan’s commitment to attracting and developing exceptional talent within the business.

Team appointments are just one of the many initiatives Val Morgan group is developing to ensure they are servicing the industry to deliver client solutions that drive results. Across cinema and outdoor Val Morgan group has over 500 screens and reaches over 1 million Kiwis weekly.

The group has joined forces with Fandom, the number one fan-powered entertainment site in the world making the Val Morgan Group suite of products unique in the market offering cinema, outdoor and online advertising opportunities.

The second half of 2019 is looking just as big for Val Morgan.

Last year VMO commissioned their proprietary ethnography study “Moments that Matter” to understand the missions and mindsets of their audience and the role that the network plays for consumers.  VMO found the audience wanted to be informed, inspired and provide moments of escape from the day-to-day. The audience also wanted to be connected to what is happening in the world around them and be given guidance on how to reset and re-focus on life outside of work.

As a result, VMO is continuing its investment across the rapidly expanding network with 15 new screens being added including five large-format screens in key commuter thoroughfares. The first in the new builds will be at Chancery Square in Auckland followed by Spark Central in Wellington. With the new-look team in place, you can expect to see more from VMO through the second half of 2019.

With some of the biggest releases in cinema history occurring in the first half of 2019 (Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame) the slate in the second half of the year will see another mega period for movies.

Val Morgan is expecting huge audience numbers, currently forecasted at over 4.3 million for Q3 of 2019. This year 63 percent of all movies showing during this period will be franchise favourites including Toy Story 4, and The Lion King. The continuation of the undeniable will also be in full swing with Spiderman: Far from Home trailing the huge success of Captain Marvel and Avengers: End Game.

But it is not just about the content. Val Morgan has been making brand messages memorable since 1896.
