A valuable head start
“We want to help students get better prepared for the workplace,” says John Miles, CEO of the Marketing Association.
“The top 15% of third-year and Master’s marketing students at the University of Auckland were invited. Although it’s a University of Auckland initiative, they’ve allowed us to include five top students from AUT as well.
“So far, 14 students have been sponsored by companies including Goodman Fielder, AA, Fonterra, McDonald’s, Human Digital and others.
“The student comes to their workplace for a week of work experience – a chance to try before they buy and connect with some exceptional talent.
“Human Digital hired their student from last year and Marketing Association has just made a job offer to the student we sponsored last year. We’d love to see more students sponsored,” Miles adds.
