One good turn deserves another—and many good turns deserve water

The marcomms community has already offered plenty of assistance to those affected by the earthquake in Christchurch, and NZ Marketing's social media columnist Simon Young is hoping there might be some more corporate generosity left over to help out with Servolution, a project involving a whole bunch of churches and community groups doing a range of good deeds such as painting out graffiti, picking up rubbish, checking for smoke alarms, providing school makeovers and cleaning parks and reserves from 14-20 April.

He says numerous volunteers have come on board to offer their help and there are a range of sponsors already involved, such as Eco Maintenance, Novelli, Countdown Sylvia Park, Hubbards, Whittakers NZ and Waiwera Water. Waiwera is providing 15 boxes of 24x500ml bottles of free water, and also offering a special charity rate of $18 + GST per case of 24x500ml bottles. So the organisers are looking for sponsors to help pay for 140 boxes to keep the workers hydrated during their hard work.

So if you can offer some assistance, email him.

Duke marks one year with live branded sport event

When TVNZ launched Duke last year, it was championed as a way of reaching hard to get audiences and acting as an experiment lab for new forms of content. And its first birthday celebration is set to champion those strengths with a live primetime TV sports event that will see two friends battle it out for Fresh-Up.
