Venom takes to the streets in spooky glow-in-the-dark fashion

The latest Sony Pictures superhero movie gets some out-of-door love via Phantom Billstickers.

Along with its media agency PHD, the production company approached Phantom to publicise the new film, Venom, in the outdoor space. Venom features a humanoid-alien protagonist with superhuman powers – and a piercing gaze. The team at Phantom wanted to replicate that gaze in the advertising and came up with a unique solution: giant, reflective vinyl ‘eyes’ that glow in the dark when the light hits them.

Phantom’s Ben Stonyer says these innovative posters show how lateral thinking can create a result that stands out at night, as well as during the day.

“Street posters are all about conveying a powerful image in a split second. With such strong creative from Sony and PHD, we saw the chance to take things to the next level.”

A Sony Pictures spokesperson says the posters keep in with the themes of the film.
