Universal TV launches in New Zealand exclusively on Sky

In a New Zealand first, NBCUniversal International Networks (NBCUIN) has announced the launch of Universal TV for Sky customers nationwide – meaning Kiwis will have access to a slate of the best in crime and drama procedurals.

Universal TV joins the Kiwi market having built its presence in multiple territories around the globe including Africa, Australia, Brazil and across Latin America.

From Friday 30th April, customers will be able to enjoy an impressive slate of New Zealand premiering series and iconic library box sets, accessible on the Universal TV channel, Sky Go and Sky On Demand.

Available on channel 210, Universal TV, the linear channel from NBCUIN will bring compelling stories to screens offering all the best high-impact drama, crime and investigation series. Universal TV will premiere Dick Wolf’s iconic dramas Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med four nights a week.

Home to some of the longest running TV shows, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit will begin its historic 22nd season, whilst the three Chicago series remain among NBCUIN’s top-rated and most-watched drama series. Select box sets will also be available on Sky Go and Sky On Demand.

Powered by memorable, magnetic characters, the channel will also showcase internationally celebrated series including House and Monk, bringing even more drama – and a touch of comedy – to the network.

These hit series were produced by Universal Television (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, the Chicago dramas, and House) and UCP (Monk), both of which are part of the Universal Studio Group.

Universal TV will join existing NBCUniversal channels E! and CNBC on the Sky platform and will be available to Sky customers who subscribe to the Sky Entertainment Package.
