The Enthusiasts and Auckland City Mission give cause for a century celebration

The Enthusiasts, Wabi Sabi and Neil Finn have gotten behind the Auckland City Mission this month as it celebrates its 100th year in service.

The Auckland City Mission has been a core staple in supporting Auckland and its people through a range of hardships. Now entering its 100 year in service, The Enthusiasts have released a heart felt campaign to pay tribute to the missions connection to our city.

Martin Yeoman, strategy partner at The Enthusiasts says the goal was to reiterate the connection the mission has to Auckland residents.

“The driving thought is based on the truth that the Mission is in Auckland, run by Aucklanders, supported by Aucklanders, for Aucklanders. It’s how we look after our people”. The central idea is ‘Aucklanders helping Aucklanders. That’s our Mission’.

Neil Finn has written a song for the Mission ‘Find your way back home’ which backs the campaign which features some well known Kiwis.

The video was produced by Wabi Sabi and directed by Summer Agnew.

Says Jamie Hitchcock, creative partner at The Enthusiasts “The centrepiece is a video that features a number of prominent and proud Aucklanders, all strong advocates for the work that Auckland City Mission does day in, day out. It builds pride in how we look after our most vulnerable and is a sincere thank you to the people of Auckland for all their support over the years”.

Chris Farrelly, Chief Executive of the Mission said “This is a major year for the Mission. It’s our Centenary year, and we are seeing our new facility HomeGround rise amongst the cityscape. It’s a purpose built space to accommodate and care for people in need while providing community spaces for all Aucklanders. We couldn’t do what we do without the support of Aucklanders. So this is a thank you from us and an invitation to get involved.”
