Sky hosts an actual marathon for Game of Thrones

Sky put the running back in ‘marathon’ in a launch campaign for Game of Thrones season seven.

While many of the show’s fans prepared for the new season by taking to the couch to watch a marathon of the previous six, a group of Italian runners completed an actual marathon across Italy while watching the 60 episodes.

The stunt by M&C Saatchi Milan kicked off in Rome and several stages later finished at the medieval-like Sfortzesco Castle in time to watch the first episode of season seven at the same time as the US.

According to Google maps, the distance between the two locations is 571 kilometres or 617 kilometres depending on the route taken.
