Show us your buns

Youtube VideoIn another pump of patriotism McD’s has released a third ad saluting the unconventional spirit of Kiwis, and celebrating our innate ability to tinker with things in an effort to make them better. To herald the development of the Kiwi Angus burger, for those who like their burgers a little bit fancy, DDB NZ has come up with some great inventions of their own.  Think gull-winged Mazdas, remote controlled lawn mowers and an ingenious way to watch TV in the shower, which may or may not catch on.  DDB NZ’s ideas are right up there with other Kiwi greats like splitting the atom, amphibious cars, bungy jumping and flying.

Just because.  We’re a humble lot.

Whittaker's divides the court of public opinion – but all for a good cause

On Monday, Whittaker’s launched its latest novelty chocolate-lolly mash up with a chocolatey answer to retro bakesale treat coconut ice. The Coconut Ice Surprise chocolate has a twist though, 20c from each block goes to Plunket – a charity which New Zealanders agree is a worthy cause. However, to relate the chocolate to the charity, Whittaker's has built the campaign around baby gender reveal parties, causing a backlash from the public who argue gender norms have expanded beyond blue for boys and pink for girls.
