Non-specific blue rodent mascot out for blood as GrabOne ventures into 1-Day’s territory

There’s been plenty of discussion about the daily deal model recently, due mostly to 1-Day’s decision to can its 1-Day Out offering because it believed the model was unsustainable. GrabOne’s founder and chief executive Shane Bradley certainly thought otherwise and, one year after launching its popular experience-based site, it’s ready to take on 1-Day at its own game with a new initiative that aims to put even more crap in people’s cupboards, GrabOne Store.

The site has been created in partnership with electronics and homewares specialist FirstIn.co.nz, which GrabOne has been working with for the past three months to sell stuff, and, you know the drill, it will offer Kiwis electronics, clothing, homeware and toys at a big discount for just 24 hours or until it’s gone.

“Store is a welcome addition to the GrabOne family,” Bradley says. “Over the past few months we’ve seen the daily deal market become swamped with copycat sites. However, we feel there’s still a bit of room for an awesome daily deal site selling good quality goods.”

GrabOne Store is the fifth vertical site to be added to the GrabOne portfolio, which includes GrabOne Experiences, GrabOne Bottle, GrabOne Tee and GrabOne Escapes.
