Youtube VideoWith a relationship that stretches back ten years, Gregg’s is a well-established brand in the DraftFCB stable. And, having started up in Dunedin almost 150 years ago—and with its instant coffee being a “mainstay of every pantry since the early 1960s”—it’s also a well-established New Zealand brand. So who better to celebrate that than with what Gregg’s general manager of sales and marketing Brendan Downey-Parish calls the “iconic characters played by the Topp Twins”.
The TV-only campaign shot by Robber’s Dog start this Sunday and will feature four brand ads covering four sets of Topp characters: Dilly & Prue with Flic (instant sachets); Camp Mother & Camp Leader with Flic; Ken & Ken with Red Ribbon Roast; and Brenda & Raylene with Red Ribbon Roast and Flic.
“The Topp Twins are uniquely Kiwi and an iconic part of our culture, as is Gregg’s,” says DraftFCB creative director Tony Clewett. “We thought we could bring the two together to tell the Gregg’s story in a humourous way. We had a lot of fun making it and hopefully New Zealand will enjoy watching it too.”
