Fan with your phone

Celebrated on 1-2 May, Israeli Independence Day has become known as National BBQ Day as everyone gets out to mark the occasion grilling food over a barbeque.

This year, Burger King, via its agency Leo Burnett Israel, is getting involved in the festivities by allowing its fans to practice their grill fanning via an interactive phone app.

Called ‘NafNaPhone’ (from the Hebrew word ‘LeNafnef’ which means to fan) it plays on Burger King’s own Flame-grilled Whopper, by requiring the user to do fanning action, which is then assessed by predicting the height of the flame create if an actual flame was being fanned.

It may look bizarre to those watching, but Burger King is hoping its fans will be keen to try it out as the higher the flame, the higher the discount given for a Whopper meal.
