The Clemenger Group New Zealand has announced a majority investment in research/customer intelligence company Perceptive Group in a move designed to add data-driven marketing capabilities to its offering.
Perceptive was founded in 2005 as a full-service market research company and has since evolved into an agency focusing on customer experience, insight-led strategy and data-driven decision making.
It’s also proven itself as one of New Zealand’s fastest growing agencies with two Deloitte Fast 50 awards, two Deloitte Asia Pacific Fast 500 awards, Westpac Business Excellence Awards, AUT Business Excellence Awards, and Research Industry Effectiveness Awards.
Clemenger Group New Zealand CEO Jim Moser says the team first came across Perceptive more than five years ago and at the time it was impressed with its business, especially the capability in technology and expanding business in measuring customer engagement and NPS.

For Perceptive founder and CEO Chris Pescott, the acquisition means it can work with its sister companies to develop even more profitable outcomes for clients.

Perceptive Group’s data offering adds to the capabilities of Clemenger BBDO/Touchcast, which was brought together earlier this year when the Clemenger Group merged Clemenger BBDO, Touchcast and Proximity.
It was created to be the ‘new age’ agency with capabilities in digital, data, direct/CRM, customer experience, advertising and retail.
Perceptive and Clemenger BBDO/Touchcast work alongside the group’s other marketing services including Colenso BBDO, 99, Raydar, BrandWorld, JustOne, Porter Novelli, Creative Activation, OMD, PHD and Dynamo.
