Cannes day three: another Grand Prix and success in ‘Outdoor’

New Zealand has fared pretty well at Cannes’ third awards show of the week, particularly in the ‘Outdoor’ category, with Colenso BBDO taking out a Grand Prix for ‘Brewtroleum’ and Y&R picking up a gold. A number of silvers and bronzes were also dished out to local agencies in the category.

Colenso BBDO scooped up a Grand Prix for its DB Export, ‘Brewtroleum‘ campaign, which saw it creating biofuel from beer by-products and urging consumers to drink the beer to “save the world”.

Jury President and chief creative officer of J. Walter Thompson Ricardo John said: “Brewtroleum proved that outdoor has no boundaries. To make gas out of beer? That’s unbelievable! It proves that agencies are going deeper and solving clients’ business problems with creativity.”
