Alex Lawson crosses the floor to Carat
Carat has announced the appointment of Alex Lawson to the role of group business director.
Lawson has been with ZenithOptimedia, also as group business director, over the last three and half years.
He previously also held roles at Redyeti Films, APN, MediaEdge and Mediacom.
This move sees Lawson joining the Dentsu Aegis Network, which is led in the local market by chief executive Rob Harvey, who welcomed the arrival of the newcomer.
Speaking on his departure from ZenithOptimedia, Lawson said it wasn’t a decision he took lightly.
“There are very few networks, people or clients in the New Zealand market that would have offered any serious appeal for me to move,” Lawson said. “However, Rob, his vision for the Dentsu Aegis Network brands in New Zealand, along with the opportunity to work with progressive clients like ASB and Holden ticked each box so when he came calling it was, obviously, a very hard conversation to resist.”
Lawson starts with Carat today. ZenithOptimedia has not yet announced a replacement for him.
