ThinkTV New Zealand has appointed Jacqueline Freeman to the newly created role of General Manager – Communications.
Freeman will act as a spokesperson for the television industry as a collective, providing data-led information about the effectiveness of free-to-air, BVOD and subscription television to advertisers and showing them how to utilise the medium to get their best return on investment.
Jointly owned by TVNZ, Sky TV and Warner Bros Discovery, ThinkTV was created to celebrate and promote the power of television and broadcaster video on demand services with the local marketing and advertising community.
ThinkTV Chair James Hole said the appointment demonstrates all three broadcasters’ commitment to supporting a dynamic and fast-evolving television industry through ThinkTV.
‘The perfect person’
“ThinkTV is excited to have such an exceptional operator lead our organisation. Jacqueline brings a wealth of experience to the role. Importantly, she has a deep understanding of what marketers and advertisers need to know about connecting with audiences, having been in their shoes herself. We know she is the perfect person to take our message to market.”
Freeman was previously Director of Sales at NZME, Trading Director at Stuff Media and most recently, led both Sales and Marketing as Chief Revenue Officer for one of NZ’s leading software development companies. She also brings agency experience, having spent time at AdWorks and Ogilvy New Zealand.
Freeman says: “I’m really excited to be joining ThinkTV and play a role in helping networks share their story with advertisers and agencies. The media landscape is evolving and there is more pressure than ever before on marketers to make the best decision for brands. I’m looking forward to working alongside the television family building on its strength and mana with its key stakeholders.”
