There’s a new hashtag in the Twitterverse, and it is fuelled by Kiwis being self-deprecating about the bedrocks of New Zealand society, essentially taking a dig at the Kiwi brand. How could they?

The tweets which began appearing today with the hashtag #kiwitreason, see Kiwis taking the piss out of New Zealand culture.

Topics include marmite, rugby, the housing market, Lorde and cherry ripes.
