ASA calls for feedback on draft Advertising Standards Code

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has launched public consultation on the Advertising Standards Code Review.

It is inviting submissions from stakeholders and members of the public through to Monday June 22, 2026.

The Advertising Standards Code is the ASA’s overarching code and applies to advertising across all media in Aotearoa. This code provides the foundation standards by which all advertising must comply.

Meet the expectations

The review aims to ensure the code remains fit for purpose, continues to reflect current advertising practices and meets community and stakeholder expectations in a rapidly changing media and technology environment.

The ASA is calling for submissions from the industry and wider community and welcomes feedback on the draft code from consumers and consumer organisations, industry participants and government agencies.

Feedback received will inform the Codes Committee’s consideration of any proposed amendments to the code.
