Nielsen appoints Matty Lin as APAC regional sales leader

Nielsen has announced the appointment of Matty Lin to its commercial organization as APAC regional sales leader.

Based in Singapore, Lin joins the business from TikTok/Bytedance, where he most recently served as general manager of Global Business Solutions for Southeast Asia and South Korea, leading commercial strategy, go-to-market innovation, and regional P&L.

Lin brings with him almost two decades of experience building high-performing teams, scaling complex commercial organisations, and leading transformational growth across global markets. As a seasoned executive, his leadership delivers deep operational discipline and a track record of sustained business impact across platforms and agencies.

Dynamic and diverse

Following his appointment, Lin says, “Nielsen sits at a truly special intersection of content, commerce, and audience behaviour. APAC is one of the most dynamic and diverse regions in the world, and as consumer habits evolve at unprecedented speed, the need for accurate, independent, and future-ready measurement has never been greater.

“I’m excited to deepen Nielsen’s influence in shaping industry standards, not only across digital and cross-media audience measurement, but also by bringing AI-driven advancements into how we help clients understand audiences, prove media value, and accelerate growth across platforms.”

In his role, Lin will be responsible for all of Nielsen’s Commercial Organization in Asia and the Pacific region.

Unprecedented innovation

He will be reporting directly to Nielsen’s chief revenue officer, Amilcar Perez, who says, “I’m confident that Matty’s experience at the forefront of advertising, technology, measurement, and platform innovation will bring value to our APAC team and help deepen Nielsen’s influence in shaping industry standards.”

Lin adds, “Above all, I’m eager to get to know our teams and partners across APAC and collaborate on building what comes next. In a moment of unprecedented innovation and change for our industry, I’m thrilled to join forces with the team to help shape Nielsen’s next chapter together.”
